I hope the wiser heads can help me with this question. The company I work for has a foreign shareholder who wishes to come an go from Thailand but does not want or need a work permit since he will not be working. Any suggestions on what visa to apply for so that he can come and go all year?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A foreign shareholder who does not need a work permit can opt for a tourist visa for short visits. However, if he is visiting for business purposes, applying for a Non Immigrant B visa could be more suitable.

If he does not do any work, he can use a tourist visa. If you visits the company business wise, should get Non Immigrant B visa for business.

Yes, that would be the plan. Just want to make sure that we have sent him all the right documents. Thank you for the advise.

Does not work that way, he should apply for this visa before he makes his way into Thailand at the Thai Consulate in his home country.

Non B for business sounds promising, I will ask the Thai office manager to check with local immigration for the requirements.
