TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the application process for a non-O retirement visa in Thailand. The original poster, Jim, seeks clarification on a sponsor letter after being told to provide bank statements showing at least 800,000 THB. Comments suggest that a bank statement alone may suffice for the visa application, and that the sponsor letter is not necessary if the bank statements meet the requirement. Additionally, there is speculation about whether a sponsor letter is the same as an affidavit, and one user recommends consulting a visa center for more information.

Sponsor letter not needed if you have the bank statements

I’m doing this now also. I believe the application says bank statements OR a sponsor letter.
