TLDR : Answer Summary
The sponsor letter is often considered unnecessary for obtaining a NON-O visa in Thailand, as the primary requirement revolves around financial proof. Generally, applicants must demonstrate that they have at least 800,000 THB in their bank account or provide evidence of monthly income. Some users mention that the sponsor letter is mostly beneficial for family members and that having the necessary financial documentation is more critical. The conversation addresses the conflicting advice often found online, emphasizing the importance of researching visa requirements thoroughly to avoid misinformation.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
The problem with this site is that there are so many different answers by different people, which contradict each other. It’s a complete minefield of advice. Somewhere in there is the answer…but who knows where ?

Relationship certificate from your country embassy in Thailand
A birth certificate of your baby
And a contract letter from your condolences
That's all.

I had 800k equivalent in my home bank account. There was nothing about the sponsor letter. Use the financial requirements, quick and no mucking around.

You only have a slim chance to get by with a sponsor letter.
In fact for more than 90 %, the 800.000 Baht way is the only way for the first year.

How can this question still be asked? And before you all get wobbly over my comment, this is about a bigger problem . People not doing any research of their own, and being scammed. It is what the Google search engine does best. Take advantage of the wonderful technology you have at your disposal. Read reviews and look at the YouTube videos and ask questions . Knowledge is power.
Yes however it begs the question is it the best place for such questions? And I think you are smart enough to work that out for yourself. I will give you an example. People send deposits for condo rental and get scammed. Or Wonder why their electricity bill is so high. Only after do they start to research . Looking at reviews or official sites are way more beneficial than Facebook. Where people give wrong information and argue.

Sorry to interrupt but I have a question about the 800k in the bank or 65k per month income, also do I need a sponsor?
And you are a fool for not understanding the majority of scams can be avoided by research. I did help I gave you the best advice you are ever going to get yet you choose to ignore it .
the frustration is that this question has literally been asked and answered many times and it just clogs up the feed. Also the people telling someone to get an agent for the 800,000 are promoting the very practice that caused the rest of us the banking problems.
A bank statement from the last 3 months, showing sufficient funds in your account to cover the 800,000 baht, currently dated (downloaded from online) does the job too.

Just pretend it's not there. Sponsor letter is mostly for family members.
always send 3 months worth of bank statements in a pdf format you can only send 1 attachment so you will have to merge 3 statement into 1 file trust me it helps as I applied and they came back asking for 3 months worth of statements
