For the Soft Power DTV visa, you need to leave the country every 6 months, and then you can return and stay for another 6 months. But if I no longer have a membership to train MMA after the first 6 months, my DTV visa will no longer be valid, right? Even though the visa itself is valid for 5 years.
Does anyone know how this works?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Soft Power DTV visa allows holders to stay in Thailand for 180 days, which can be reset by leaving and re-entering the country. Although the visa is valid for 5 years, there are currently no strict regulations about continuing the course associated with the visa, such as MMA training, after the initial six months. Participants have reported varying experiences with how qualifications are monitored upon re-entry, leading to some flexibility regarding compliance.
It's all good. I got my DTV on account of five dental appointments. I attended one for a check-up, then cancelled the rest! I've been out and back in three times since! It's a laugh! 😂😂
Anonieme deelnemer 842 dont say this here , the're also anonymous people in this group who actually work for the immigration (no joke) they might change it bc of too many of these statements, be discrete ;-)
But that's how the embassy accepts it. If I'm queried I'll just make a few more appointments. No big deal. Most digital nomads just sit in internet cafes leeching free WiFi playing on their computers. No difference
Your entry stamp allows you to stay for 180 days. You can either leave thailand then come back in, or extend it in country (which requires all the documentations again, so people may choose not to go this route). Every re-entry resets a new 180 days stamp
The visa is valid for 5 years. For now, there are no written rules to say what happens if you should continue the course or not after approval.
DTV_Begpacker stop overthinking only think after something bad happens, right? That’s why the forum exists - to ask questions and avoid bad things from happening. Your “sabai sabai” approach might work for you, but not necessarily for others.
You don't need to leave every six months. You can stay one day and leave, then come again and stay one month, and leave two months. It's totally free and up to you. Each entry grants 180 days.
