What happens to my Non-O visa and work permit after losing my job in Thailand?

I tried searching on the group, but couldn't find the answer I need. I have a Non O based on marriage, and a WP. I've lost my job, so what takes precedent, my visa or the WP?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a Non-O visa based on marriage, losing your job does not affect your visa status. It is important to cancel your work permit, but since your Non-O visa is not tied to your employment, you can remain in Thailand under the visa as it is valid independently of your job status.

That can actually mean TWO completely different things

One that you have a year-long multi-entry Non-O visa that you bought from a thai consulate in another country based on marriage to a thai where you bounce out and back every 90 days

OR

One where you have a year-long, "extension of stay" on a Non-O visa that you got from the immigration office in the area where you live (the kind you do 90 day reporting on)

Now doesn't matter what one you have because BOTH the visa or the extension were not issued based on employment, they were issued based on marriage to a thai so losing your job doesn't affect either of them.

You're still fine no matter what one of those you have ๐Ÿ™‚

Well you need to go cancel the work permit but your Non-O visa/extension is not based on employment it's based on marriage to a thai so it's fine and your next extension is due when ever it's due.
