What happens if I apply for the Thailand Special Tourist Visa (STV) on September 1, 2022, before the program ends?

Hi Everyone,

The Thailand Special Tourist Visa (STV) is currently set to end September 30, 2022.  If I get the STV this year on say September 1st, does that currently mean I must leave on September 30th?  Or does this just mean you need to apply and be approved by September 30th then you may stay 90 days and decide to extend up to 2 times?  Thank you for your assistance!

Under the CURRENT rule, You can enter Thailand on STV until Sep 30 and the last day for extension application is also Sep 30 2022. But you need to enter Thailand on or before 2July to be able to apply for an extension. As

Thank you for the response! Do you have the link to the website where you pulled this from? All I can read on the badge is Royal Thai Police. July 3rd deadline would make sense since that will give you your initial 90 days that is listed in the STV visa plus allow an extension for another 90 days but it sounds like you won't be allowed the second 90 day extension?

last time the program ran out on the STV people were able to enter on it but not get extensions on it. SO it will remain to be seen how they will run this STV program when it's running out.

Unfortunately you're asking MONTHS ahead of anyone really knowing the slightest thing about it 🙁

Thanks you for the response! Knowing what happened on the first STV rollout may help even though Thailand regulations seem to change weekly...
