TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK national shares their successful experience applying for a DTV visa from the Phnom Penh Embassy, detailing their document submissions which included proof of funds, location, and a work portfolio. They submitted their application on January 8 and received approval on January 23, totaling 16 days. Community comments express gratitude for the information and share personal situations regarding visa applications and internet connectivity issues while waiting in Cambodia.
But im in a bit of a sticky situation while waiting,I been moving around to find a place to stay that has stable and good internet connection. Seem like an impossible challenge here.
The place I'm at, It was 40 Mbps when I test it. Now it drop to 5 Mbps. Is it really common to have bad internet in Phnom Penh?
This is my 3rd hotel in 5 days.
Also I'm using Smart Sim 4G. It also on and off, so I'm switching between wifi and data
this was a problem for me also. Took forever to submit the application. Some things worked better when connected to LTE network on my phone vs laptop on wifi. Check your internet speed during different times of the day also

For entry into Thailand, unless you've got a car or motorcycle and are the driver of said vehicle, do NOT use Aranyaprathet-Poipet to enter Thailand.
We just had someone tell us he was refused entry there on a DTV despite having been outside of Thailand for a month.
You don't need to fly back, any other land border works (I can assure you of that as I've entered Thailand on a DTV from Cambodia several times already but NOT at Aranyaprathet). I did exit there, but I haven't re-entered there.

I love to hear that, I'm waiting now in Cambodia, applied for soft power on the 21st, I can only show 500k for the last bank statement, which is why I applied here, even tho the wait is long. How did you pass the time?
The exception being Aranyaprathet-Poipet. That border might refuse entry to DTV holders. Unfortunately, it's where cross border buses cross the border. This means for anyone without their own vehicle, they'll need to catch a taxi or bus to another border and figure out transportation on the Thai side. Not a big deal to be honest, this part of the world has well established transportation connections even at the remotest borders it tends to be fairly straightforward.
