Should I submit statements from one bank or multiple banks for my Thai visa application?

Searched but couldn't find this question about bank statements in the group:

My "primary" checking account (Chase) has a balance that varies pretty widely from day to day and month to month (2 of the last 3 months were well above the limit, but one was $12k). As soon as my paycheck (around $35k) hits, I typically move money into investment accounts (Schwab, Fidelity) and a few online banks that pay a much higher interest rate (Marcus, Ally).

Should I submit statements from only one (like Marcus, with average balance last 3 months around $32k, not including 200k in CDs), or a combination of Chase + Marcus/Ally, which would show my paychecks going into Chase every month?

I'm a Nevada resident, applying through the LA Embassy.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is applying for a DTV visa and is uncertain about which bank statements to submit due to varying balances across different accounts. They inquire whether to use statements from just one account with high average balances or a combination that also shows consistent paycheck deposits. Responses suggest submitting a combination of statements from their primary bank (Chase) and higher-interest savings accounts (Marcus, Ally), as well as including any CDs for comprehensive proof of liquid assets. Additionally, there's discussion about the LTR visa as a potential alternative, as several contributors provide insights into requirements and options related to expat living and financial stability in Thailand.

Submit the combination: Chase + Marcus + CDs. Here's why:

Chase shows the $35K paycheck hitting every month — that's the income source, which embassies need to see.

Marcus/Ally shows the stable $32K average savings — proving liquid funds.

CDs ($200K) are a powerful asset worth including as a supporting letter/statement.

The one dip to $12K in Chase is totally fine once reviewers can see the money flowed out to savings/investments — that's smart financial behavior, not a red flag.

A short cover letter explaining the transfer pattern between accounts removes any ambiguity.

You should be investing in yourself, that’s why you want the DTV. Keep the money in Chase for the time period RTCLA requires.

Don’t be moving it around.

Otherwise you might be rejected and your $300 lost.

The Los Angeles Thai Consulate is VERY good for the DTV visa. Provide the multiple Bank account statements which are in your name only.. They even accept brokerage account statements.

Processing time is a few days if all needed requirements for the DTV visa are submitted.

Good Luck 🍀 please let us know what happens with your DTV application.

Another Thai Visa which I believe that you may be qualified for is the LTR VISA for ten years. With your income AND assets its likely you may qualify for the LTR VISA. Much BETTER choice. Look at it.

Thanks for the tip! I think I would qualify for the LTR as work from Thailand professional. My employment contract is with a sub, but private parent company has to file annual reports with UK government (which would show they crush income requirements).

My concerns were:

- the insurance requirement. I have employer-provided insurance which I'm sure is enough + well over $100k in various banks, so I think I'm good. My concern was if they required $100k in a Thai bank, which does not appear to be the case

- what happens if I stop working before the end of the LTR? I assume I still hold it for the full 10 years?

Anonymous participant it's issued at first for 5 years... Then you can extend it for an added 5 years.

Suggest you follow the LTR VISA forum for helpful information.

There are a few LTR VISA holders in this forum.

The insurance requirements should be easy to fulfill as your employer plan should be acceptable.

Even a high deductible policy is the lowest cost... Such as available from LMG Thailand...chat with
