I was approved in 8 days for Destinatipn Thailand Visa with Tingly Thai Cooking School. Went from pending document check to pending approval in 5 days, after 3 days and a weekend, pending approval turned to visa issued at 10AM on the 8th day (5th working day).

The cost of the course is 20,000 baht. Everything is included. Cooking materials, food, visa support. They send you an email with 5 documents (attached).

For 6 months, you only come in 12 times, it was first and last saturday of the month. You stay for 4 hours and make two meals. You can take the food home.

Soft power: cooking

Cost: 20,000 baht + DTV application fee

(You get 24 meals for 20k baht basically)

Visa length: full 5 years 180+ stamp each time.

I applied with a non seasoned easy access savings account, balance was Β£12,000. I explained that I moved money from locked high yield to current account, and explained that I typically dont keep that much money in my checking, in case of theft, in case of unauthorised charges, but also, that my bank doesnt pay interest on checkings balance. I did not show the yield savings account, I only showed the transfer confirmation and highlighted the Β£12,900 deposit from savings to checking. Β£12k was in my account for 2 days. They do not accept investments, money market funds or locked yields. It has to be liquid.

Then you get the visa

No need for an agency. I applied in Hanoi. I also submitted photos of myself in the application, photos of me with my friends. For the introduce yourself, I said I am living in Thailand, I do not drink alcohol I do not party I have decided to spend my money in Thailand blah blah blah 🀣

Basically, show them you are not a risk or liability. I was not called for interview.

Thank you for your helpful report.

I'm glad you got your DTV visa for Cooking approved with 6 months of the Cooking 🍳 course of study.

Unfortunately another one of our forum members, who had submitted their course of Muay Thai training for 6 months in the Vientiane Thai Embassy, today was issued the METV MULTIPLE ENTRY TOURIST VISA instead of the DTV visa.

I point this out, as it's beginning to appear that a soft power activity course of 6 months may result in getting the METV vs the DTV visa.

The added costs of a 9 months or 12 months course of study is in my opinion, well spent money.

Here's the post of today I mentioned above...

Thank You for your helpful report πŸ‘

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

One thing I never understood, maybe you can help me. I will go to Da Nang and will apply from there. Is it correct or do I have to go to Hanoi or HCM and wait there until I receive the result?

it's all online. You can apply for anywhere inside of Vietnam. But which office you apply through depends on where you are in Vietnam as each office covers different parts of the country.
