Hi I’m a US citizen and I’m in the process of submitting a non-immigrant visa(B) on the Thai e visa website and it’s asking for
“Proof of permanent residence in the country where the application is submitted”
Can this be my passport? Or what exactly are they looking for?
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen is inquiring about the proof of permanent residence required for submitting a Non-Immigrant Visa (B) through the Thai e-Visa system. The main concern is whether a passport suffices, or if other documentation is necessary. Community comments provide insights into the application process, noting that the e-Visa is generally meant for those applying from their home country, and alternative proof of residence may be required depending on the applicant's current location.
I believe that the OP has the answers needed for his questions. We wish him success 🤞

In Uk today I uploaded a copy of our electoral register form which has our names and address on.
It worked last year.
No idea how USA system works.

Where are you NOW?
What is the purpose for the Non B Visa
Do you now have an offer for employment in Thailand? As a teacher or with a Business?
The online Evisa application system is for those who are in THEIR home country.
If you are not in your home country or don't have residence status in the country where you are now in...you cannot use the Evisa online application system.
you upload the data page of your passport or your d/l for that country to show that you do indeed live in an area that is allowed to use that consulate you're applying at
If you are applying for that type of Non-B visa you want to definitely get a year-long, multi-entry Non-B, not the single entry one. Because once you get that visa issued it cannot be extended inside the country. So IF you're going to "visit their factory regularly" you want the year/multi that stamps you in for 90 days each entry for the who year the visa is valid for
then you will need to submit that letter with your application for the Non B Visa for business. And that they will sponsor you for a Thai work permit to work in Thailand?
