TLDR : Answer Summary
The user received a notification that their Thai visa application was cancelled after it had initially moved to pending approval. They are seeking clarity on whether this cancellation implies rejection or if it could be due to other reasons. Comments suggest that cancellations typically result from discrepancies in provided data or mistakes during submission. Users advise thoroughly checking biodata and consider that the Embassy may request specific information or documentation during the application process. Discussion also highlights the differing opinions on whether using a visa agent is beneficial, with some users advocating for self-submission while others emphasize the advantages of consulting professionals.
Cancelled usually means wrong information or they find out the applicant isnt in the country where applying. Sometimes people enter thailand before their visa is fimished and application gets canceles.
pardon me but I have not seen One report that a DTV Visa Application is cancelled for not still being in the country where you applied for the DTV visa. Or has entered Thailand before the decision is known.
Yes the applicant is to stay in the country where they applied for the DTV visa and 🚫 NOT leave until the decision is known.
the application is not cancelled for leaving the country where applied. It's against the rules. But becomes a problem for the applicant if the Thai Embassy or Consulate requires submission of every passport page and or personal interview with the Thai Embassy or Consulate.
what? The application isn’t cancelled if you leave, but it is against the rules? Are you saying that it is a rule, but one that is not enforced or regarded by the Embassies themselves?
why use an Agency? If someone is not even able to fill out an application correctly, they will have far greater problems in thailand. It’s not that difficult 🤦♂️
Anonymous participant 977 True, it is not that difficult doing it yourself for many. There are some who do need genuine assistance due to issues with reading/writing etc but some just want the 'easy' way.
That's why I used ISSA Compass. They have a money back guarantee if you get rejected. Also they have a 98% success rate and 5 star rated on Google. People need do research and use the correct agent.
Peter Jillen Yeah ISSA does have a high approval DTV rate but there are critics of it regarding speed of communication post payment and those who have not been reimbursed as expected when rejected.
After uploading your passport photo you must triple check the data propagated into the biodata fields. The OCR makes mistakes and you must correct as necessary.
It's strange that they cancelled it instead of rejecting it. You might be able to contact them to ask why either by phone or email with it being a cancellation.
