What does a VOID stamp on a Thai Tourist Visa mean for my passport and future travels?

Hi everyone,

Would like to know one thing, I have applied for 2 months single entry Tourist Visa and today I got my passport with the Void stamp. What does that mean? I have a fresh passport and provide every documents they have asked. Initially I Submitted the documents as per the check list, after two days I asked to submit Additional ITR Which I don't have as I am working freelancer. Today I got my passport with Visa and a Void stamp on it.

My question is will it gonna be a negative mark on my passport or my future travel. Suggestions would be appreciated. As I was planning to come there to meet my partner.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the concern of an individual who received their passport back with a VOID stamp on their recently applied Tourist Visa for Thailand. Despite providing all necessary documents, the visa was voided due to lack of an Income Tax Return (ITR), which is questioned by the visa officer. Various users in the comments reassure the original poster (OP) that having a VOID stamp does not negatively impact future visa applications or entry into Thailand, suggesting that they may pursue a Visa on Arrival (VOA) instead.

There are a LOT of people who apply for tourist visas in the countries that VFS Global brokers visa for thailand who have gotten a tourist visa in their passport with a VOID stamp on it.

It's because VFS Global sticks the visas into your passport then they're forwarded to who ever signs off on them. That's who makes the final decision.

AFAIK: Having a VOID visa in your passport does NOT impact you comin' into the country or getting another visa.

Hey Tod, thank you so much for your opinion about it. Even the same thing I was thinking since the time I got my passport back with that stamp on it. Its just that it is the first time I am doing this and I have no clue about anything. So what I read online I became extremely nervous. But I think now I got my answers and thanks for making me feel positive.

I tried the same in Phnom Penh, VOID with no explanation.

I still got in on my visa exempt and haven't had any problems since.

You guys are really helpful, though the embassy and the agency is not ready to help me. I m going to go for VOA for sure and post my experience.

You still have a problem. flight on the 7th, return flight on 25th. that is 18 days. your Visa On Arrival is just 15 days with day of entrance is day nr 1. So you can stay till day 21.

No issue for you in the future, definitely suggest you do VOA and carry the necessary cash for visa and to show.

I still have my returning flight on 25th of February which is a non-profit refundable booking, my hotel is also a non refundable one.

Is it gonna be an issue for me to travel in the future? Would you suggest me to go for VOA?

That's what probably got the visa voided. I have had them refuse me a visa as I have no Income in India even though my bank statement showed a balance in excess of 5,000 dollars.

I didn't provide ITR as I am not working full time. I am working with my sister's NGO and I clearly mentioned that on my explanation letter to.

The ITR you provided did not convince the senior visa officer of your financials and hence the Visa which had already been issued was voided. MAKE SURE you carry the equivalent of 20,000 baht for your trip to show the officers if asked, PLUS 2000 baht to pay for the visa and you should have no hassles.

Yes. I did. And will take your instructions seriously too. Thanks Robert A. Piccus

What consulate/embassy did you use? I would say try a different one. But I'm not sure about the rules for Indian nationals.
Thomas ********************
I think Robert is correct

For now , I do even know what to do. This is my first time experience and I am in a mess.

Oh, that's sad. Best of luck!

No
Thomas ********************
Oh, so you're not allowed to apply in, for example, Vientiane?

The embassy do not entertain the direct application. They have a authorized agency named VFS global. I tried with them
