TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience obtaining a freelancer visa in Laos, Vientiane, detailing the documents submitted, which included freelance contracts, financial statements, and personal information. Ha. Yeah. He kept the 16 pages.

He is gonna use it as the benchmark!

Well done.

Congrats! Did they ask you to sign each piece of paper? Or did you do it yourself? Did they wait while you were signing each piece of paper, or had you sent back and called you later once you were done signing?

Secondly, did they ask you to provide the hotel booking or rent agreement for your stay in Thailand? Also, did they ask you to provide the company registration documents of the client you work for? I heard that in addition to the letter and employment contract from the company, you also need to submit company registration documents.

I signed each piece of paper myself before handing them the docs

No hotel booking or rent agreement needed

(I had them handy though) My clients included their Aus Biz Numbers on the letterheads that they wrote for me but that’s it, no major registration docs. I think if you apply as biz owner you can provide those

Thank you for your reply.

Last couple questions if you don't mind. Did you arrive in Laos on VoA or eVisa? If VoA, did you had to wait long in queue at the airport?

Secondly, in the DTV Visa application form, there is a section which ask for "Name and Contact of Guarantor in Lao PDR" and "Name and Contact of Guarantor in Thailand". What did you fill in these two sections of the visa application form. I guess I can fill contact details of my landlord/owner in the "Name and Contact of Guarantor in Thailand" section, but I don't know anyone in Laos.

I came by land border and got VoA, not too long wait

Name and Contact of Guarantor in Lao PDR - put "N/A"

Contact in Thailand - yes put landlord or anyone you know

when I went to Laos Vientiane a couple weeks ago I was told at least 3 months of the account showing 500k as it says on their website. Were you told 6 months or this is just what you showed them?

Hey
@Jeremy *******
I read this group and know that Laos requirements minimum 3 months statement. There are other countries that accept 1 month statements. In my research it’s Jakarta, Indonesia and Yangon, Myanmar. Did they refund you the 10k ?

@Lina *********
I didn’t have to pay the 10k in Laos since they didn’t accept the application that time. So I think they only take the payment if they determine you meet the requirements. I even handed them the 10k with the paperwork although it wasn’t asked for

I see. Well just let the money sit in your account for a bit longer and then reapply, maybe in another country. Good luck 🤞🏻

thanks, yea I didn’t realize about the 3 months thing until after so I’ll try again somewhere else in a couple months

Hi congratulations🎉🙂! You saying screenshots, I assume you submitted online? So you did digital signatures on all docs you submitted?
Lina **********
ORIGINAL POSTER

Can you please clarify a bit on the 16 page portfolio preparation. For instance, I plan to apply as an Amazon Merch seller. I have design files and I have Amazon product listings with those designs. How would you go about creating a portfolio in this case, considering I've got 1000s of designs and over 50,000 Amazon listings. Thanks in advance 🙂

@Fasih ******
I think do your best to compile what makes sense together. Maybe screenshot your products , your official merch seller profile, stuff like that. They just want to see that you’re working online, so whatever you can show to prove . Maybe sales statistics , show some listings , and some designs . Don’t over do it
