TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for the 2 + 1 month visa at the Thai embassy in Ho Chi Minh City, you will need to bring proof of at least 20,000 baht (or the equivalent amount in a bank account), your flight ticket to Thailand, and proof of onward travel out of Thailand within 60-90 days. Also, be aware that the embassy only accepts payments in US dollars and the application fee for a single entry tourist visa is $40.

It's pretty much just like it's listed on that weblink I provided you

proof of 20K baht or the equivalent in a bank account

proof of your ticket TO thailand and onward travel OUT of thailand in 60-90 days and that's it.
