Hi, Im from Argentina, my wife is Canadian and we live in koh tao. We are legally married here in Thailand. She has a work permit and a one year visa. I want to apply for a"trailing spouse" non o for 90 days, then the year extension that matches my wife's extension at Surat Thani immigration office. Has anybody done this and knows exactly what documents and paperwork I need? Thanks in advanced.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, an Argentinian man married to a Canadian wife who holds a work permit and one-year visa in Koh Tao, inquires about the required documentation for applying for a trailing spouse Non-O visa for 90 days, followed by a year extension at the Surat Thani immigration office. Responses suggest visiting the immigration office directly to obtain a list of specific requirements, which may include a marriage certificate, her work permit, both passports, and documentation from her employer allowing him to be on her visa. The process requires proper preparation and understanding of the specific requirements that can vary by office.

Unless someone has done exactly what you're doing; an argentinian and canadian couple with the canadian one working legally here trying for a trailing spouse Non-O visa/extension at the Surat Thani Immigration office any feed back you get is gonna be near worthless 🙁

The way you know what's required is for BOTH you and your wife to slog on over to the immigration office (take your marriage certificate, her work permit, both passports). Get the hand out from the Surat Thani Immigration office listing the requirements to get both the initial 90 day Non-O visa and then the matching year extension.

You will also need documentation from her employer stating it's okay for you to be 'piggy backed' on to your wife's Non-B visa/extension, and documentation from them too I believe.

There are over 80 immigration offices in the country and there is no "one size fits all" list of exactly what's needed. It takes going there, talking to them, getting the hand out then jumping thru the hoops required to get those documents so you can go back and apply for the 90 day Non-O visa for 2000baht and then 2 months after you get that visa issued you go back and get the matching extension for 1900baht
