Im canadian and I will need 30 days visa extention early april.

I usually get it in koh samui where im not asked any proof of address or documents at all. Ive seen on other post that Bangkok and pattayas immigrations are more strict.

What do i need to prepare as far as documents.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian tourist seeking a 30-day visa extension in Thailand can often obtain it without strict documentation, especially in places like Koh Samui. However, requirements may vary by location. It's advisable to check if you need documents like a TM30 receipt or proof of address, especially if applying in stricter immigration offices such as in Bangkok or Pattaya. Generally, you can use any immigration office, but reporting to the office closer to your registered address is recommended.

Thanks, as he is living in Bangkok is his rented condo, he should report in Bangkok. But as he using a Tourist Visa he can visit any Immigration Office after spending a night at a hotel in that place.

You should go to the immigration office which serves the area of the address you would provide on the application form. Some immigration offices require TM30 receipt, some may require just a proof of address, some don't.

Up to your choice.

Immigration office in Bangkok (Chaeng wattna) doesn't require TM 30 receipt, FYI.

If you're here on a tourist visa, you can use whatever office you want. Some may want TM30 filed, which should be done by the hotel.

And where are you planning to go , or do you like us to type a list of more than the 70 Immigration Offices with all their details.

Normally application on basis of the Visa Exempt Entry does not need address registration.

If you rent a condo in Asoke, by guessing it is somewhere in Bangkok, you have an registered address in Bangkok.

Then you apply for the Extension of Stay in Bangkok.
