What documents can I attach to indicate my current location for a visa application?

Maybe it's a dumb question. Still, can somebody tell me what I need to attach in "Document indicating current location"? My country of citizenship (my driving license or any utility bills), or where I am right now (at that time while submitting the documents)?

PS. I'm still in my home country...

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a visa, if you are currently in your home country, you can attach documents such as your driving license, a bank statement, utility bills, or any other official document indicating your name and address. If applying from another country, such as Thailand, you can use a hotel booking or other forms of proof of current residence. It's important to provide as much information as possible to satisfy the requirements of the embassy.

Check this format. I would include as much info as possible

Vietnam Visa

§ Boarding Pass and Passport Stamp

§ Airbnb Reservation in Hanoi

§ Long Term Lease Thailand

Follow this format and you should be fine

OP is in his home country, so this is irrelevant.

Good catch i assume he was already here in thailand like most applicants . He should go to Hanoi or Jakarta doing it somewhere else will just a waste of time and money. There are a lot of good reports coming from those places so i would not go any other route at the moment 🙏

You have to be physically in the country you enter in "Current location" from the moment when you hit the submit button (in page 4 - Supporting documents) until your visa is approved. Some embassies require applicants to be legal residents of that country, inform yourself before deciding from which country you will be applying.

As you are home your DL, bank statement, lease, utility bill are ok. Apply elsewhere hotel booking is fine.

Irrelevant here, since the OP is in his home country, but some embassies require applicants to be legal residents and a hotel booking is not going to impressed them at all.

So it means I can attach my home country utility bill, which has my home address, is enough? Is there no need to attach any additional documents, such as my national ID Card and Thailand hotel reservation?

Participant(e) anonyme But you really have to tell us what you want to do. Your original post is not clear at all. Will you apply from your home country (staying there all the time from submitting application until approval), or are you preparing the application in your home country, and intend to apply from somewhere else?

I am applying from my home country, and I'll still be living in my home country from submitting the application until my approval.

Anonymous participant so you can submit docs mentioned earlier.

Got it, thank you.

Participant(e) anonyme It all depends where you will apply from. Search for reports of people who have applied successfully in that specific country. It's usually easier when applying from one's home country, but you would still have to show a proof of current location. In my home country (where I did not apply, since I do not live there), a utility bill is accepted. No idea about yours.
