TLDR : Answer Summary
The 'evidence substantiating purpose of visit' on the Thailand OA visa application typically refers to documentation that confirms the applicant's intention; for retirees, this can include bank statements, police check certificates, and medical certificates. Applicants are advised to provide original bank statements with official stamps, as digital copies may not be accepted. Recent discussions indicate that the OA visa application process has transitioned to an online system, prompting users to stay informed via the embassy's official website.

I really don`t know, the online system only went live today so maybe best wait and let others go first and problems be highlighted and resolved, you have plenty of time.

Paulene Polly Anne Okeefe I just created an account out of curiosity and had no problem. Go to the second link I put up `Home` > Place your mouse over the second picture down on the right (house on stilts) Click `read more`on that picture. Now scroll to the bottom and fill in the passport details. Click`check` and then `apply for visa` In the box that appears at the bottom click `sign up for individual` Then enter your email and a password.

It`s the only way you can do it now in London. I assumed that`s what you were doing. You need to check the embassy website.

I understand, make sure you present original bank statements that are hand stamped. They won`t accept a digital signature.

oh ok thanks for that info james. I hope will be ok. I’ve been going on a retirement visa for the last few years and always done it in thailand but now rules all changed and I don’t want to put 800 000 in a thai bank so will now show income from my uk bank.
