Hi everyone, I hope you can help me understand. I have a company and I would like to hire a boy from Myanmar. What documents do I have to give him to request VISA and work permit? He lost his passport and will get it back around April. Can he start working for me or will I have problems?
Thanks ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on hiring a boy from Myanmar, particularly what documents are necessary for him to obtain a work visa and permit, highlighting his lost passport issue. The community responses outline that without the passport, the hiring process is complicated, with recommendations to wait for the passport's return and possibly using an agent familiar with migrant worker laws in Thailand. It is mentioned that a NON-LA visa may be applicable for blue-collar jobs, along with a work permit, emphasizing the specifics of hiring based on nationality and job type.
Regarding lost passport, he will need to apply a new one which will take longer than normal (before coup) as he will need to get queue number and wait for it.
Visa and work permit : If you offer him White Collar job, he will need to have a bachelor degree.
There is Non LA visa + work permit for blue collar worker which attached together with Pink Card. This kind of visa is aspecially for neighbor country such as Myanmar, Lao, Cambodia.
no pink cards, they now issue a 10 year NON thai id card> My Cambodian gf has one
My advice:
find an agent to assist you
Of if uir in phuket, ( am sure other places have them but i know Phuket) visit the local labor office , they have all the info u need to hire a migrant laborer.

I believe it's a different "work permit" system for Burmese, Loa, Cambodian etc. Not the same as us Falang. Also due to the ongoing issues in Myanmar there is a back log for passports and such so there is actually an "amnesty" in place, but he should be up to speed with this I would have thought.

Look at the thai immigration website for more information on jobs he can do
that would show me the requirements about the L-A visa? Interesting!

Everything about it is a problem. Please seek legal counsel. 1st he needs a passport unless you're going to pay him cash under the table against the law. This would put you, your company, and partners at risk.
Secondly what kind of job is this because the work permit system is in place to encourage companies to hire thai nationals. If it's a job a thai can easily do there is a high chance it won't even get approved.
