Hi trying to call the Thai embassy London and is just ringing out. My question is do I need a solicitor to sign the letter her dad has wrote to say I can take her as she has his last name not mine? I have all paper work to prove she is mine and this is for a 2 week holiday. Can anyone help 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the necessity of having a solicitor sign a consent letter for taking their child to Thailand, given that the child has the father's last name. Comments suggest reaching out to the embassy via social media due to difficulties in calling. Additionally, it's recommended to have the letter signed, dated, and certified, along with carrying the child's birth certificate for possible requirements from UK immigration or airlines, as well as Thai immigration.
I would get it for safety. Signed. Dated and Certified.
And carry her birth certificate with your name on it.
It’s not really up to the Thai Embassy, and I doubt they could even answer you on this.
It could be needed by UK immigration as you exit the UK. It could be required by the airline to check-in and board. It could be Thai immigration asking to see it as you enter or leave again. Etc. too many what ifs. Get the letter certified and travel at ease.
