What documents and procedures are needed to transfer visa stamps to a new passport at Chaengwattana?

Hello everyone !

I got my new passport today and I know (thanks to you guys) that I have to go to Chaengwattana with the letter provided by the Embassy to have my stamps "transferred" to the new passport.

Few questions :

* shall I go there as usual early in the morning to do this?

* shall I ask for one specific counter or will it be the counter which deals with my type of VISA ? (non-immigrant F)

* a part from the two passports and the letter from my Embassy, shall I bring some other documents? (to be sure, I will bring for sure photocopies of first pages and last stamps and photocopies of the new passport first page).

Thank you so much for your help and support and have a good day !

Hello, just to confirm that I have been this morning immigration to transfer my stamps to the new passport and the process was easy and straightforward. All the needed documents are listed on the form you directed me to through the file section of this page. And I confirm that the procedure is undertaken by the counter to which your VISA belongs : so I went to counter N2. Thank you !

@Ellie ******
yes I know thank you but I would not know in which sections open for reservation I should secure my appointment in this case....maybe the "transfer visa" appointment?

Just to let you know that "transfer visa" is probably not the right choice because it is limited to B visa, as when I have secured an appointment, it sends me to counter M. I will just go and explain the issue, otherwise I will risk of spending the whole day at immigration ! Thank you anyway.

I presume that you will need to pick a token number as you enter. Just explain your requirement clearly at the counter giving the tokens. The token number would have info on the counter type + queue number.

>shall I go there as usual early in the morning to do this?

My opinion: Go as usual.

>shall I ask for one specific counter or will it be the counter which deals with my type of VISA ?

You'd go to the counter that processes Non-Immigrant F visas.

>a part from the two passports and the letter from my Embassy, shall I bring some other documents?

You will need the following documents.

1. Transfer Stamp to New Passport form, acquired from the local immigration office.

2. Letter from the embassy requesting the stamps to be transferred (if the embassy issued the request).

3. The old pasport and a copy of:

- The data (“picture”) page.

- The most recent arrival stamp.

- The most recent visa (if applicable).

- The most recent extension of stay (if applicable).

- The original and copy of the departure card (“TM 6”).

4. The new passport and a copy of:

- The data (“picture”) page.

This should be a free service.

@Ellie ******
do you know if the form is immigration office specific?

@Benjamin *****
it is totally the Bangkok immigration offices form. I don't know that any other office in the country uses it
