I try to find the right answer… do I need 800k in bank or is it enough that I have a salary around 100k Swedish krona every month? When I apply… ?
Answer summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether having 800,000 Thai Baht in the bank is necessary for applying for a visa, or if a monthly salary of 100,000 Swedish Krona is sufficient. Responses in the comments suggest that it may be possible to use a bank statement as proof of funds instead of having the full amount in savings. Several commenters recommend applying for a tourist visa for 60 days, which can be extended for an additional 30 days, while pointing out various requirements such as proof of accommodation and proof of funds.

Unless there are any further changes, yes you can extend by 30 days by paying at immigration

you can use a bank statement for proof of funds and use the same document/photo for proof of address.

I’ve applied for e-visa from the embassy many times and never had to show utility bills. I am assuming from the word ‘leccie’ you’re in the UK

I’m also going in July for about 7 weeks but I’m holding off doing anything just yet as no timeline for implementing the change to 30 days has been announced and there’s still plenty of time for me to apply for the tourist visa.

Ok cool - it costs £30 but I’d hold off and see what happens for now

Has others have said, get a tourist visa, if you intend to stay more than 30 days, what no one has mentioned, if you check in with your airline with a 1 way ticket or a return ticket after 30 days and you have no visa they can refuse you boarding.

You must apply online through the Thai e-visa system. Your application will be directed to the responsible embassy or consulate. You cannot go directly to a Thai embassy.

Just get a proper visa it’s simple, if not do 30 days in Thailand then 30 days in Vietnam with normal people
Paul **********
Paul **********
Not really simple. You must prepay whole 2 months accommoadation which makes it very restrictive to moving around as you feel.

Unless it changes again, you should be able to extend 30 days on top of 30 day stamp

As
@Ellie ******
said...Get the SETV single entry tourist visa from your Thai Embassy or Consulate by using the Evisa online application system.

On arrival you will be stamped in for 60 days...

And an additional 30 days can be added by visiting your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

It should be able to apply for a tourism extension once you enter on a visa-exempt, even after the period is changed to 30 days.

BUT

Your travel will be in July. Why not just apply for a tourist visa for 60 days in advance? That's all online now unless you apply for it from Laos.

The fee would usually be less than 1,900 baht (except for a few countries), and you don't have to spend up to one day at the immigration office to apply for an extension during your stay.

I am just looking at the thai consulate website and the list of things you need. A utility bill which I don't have or a mobile phone bill which I also don't have as I am with Giff Gaff. So I am really a bit stuck and may just have to hope and wish!

it wasn’t mentioned on the list. I can change back to my old mobile phone provider if needed. I’m waiting first or might just get stamped in with 30 days and extend there.
