Curious about returning back to Thailand from lao at the nong khai border….I’m the next couple weeks..

I have a metv, do I need onward travel proof and/or 20,000 baht do you think?

Has anyone crossed over recently on that type of visa or perhaps a visa exempt?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling back to Thailand from Laos via the Nong Khai border with a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) generally requires you to follow specific guidelines. While you do not typically need to show proof of onward travel, it's advisable to have evidence of funds (20,000 baht or equivalent) and accommodation details ready, should you be asked. Performing a border bounce to extend your stay is possible, and obtaining a 30-day extension from Thai Immigration before your trip can also be beneficial.

IF you have a METV multiple entry tourist visa, Just do a BORDER BOUNCE to get the added 60 days STAMP in your passport.

Have you gone to Thai Immigration to get a 30 day extension of stay?

It's Wise to be able to show IF ASKED....PROOF of having 20,000 Thai baht in cash or equivalent foreign currency AND, the address of your NEXT few days stay in Thailand.

The ticket departing Thailand is NOT normally asked. As you have a METV multiple entry tourist visa.

AVOID POIPET BORDER CROSSING.

Your plan for doing the BORDER BOUNCE into Laos is okay. Just review the Entry requirements.
