Anyone know a good company to do a LTR (long term residence) visa. If someone has done it what did they charge?
Answer summary
This discussion highlights the challenges and costs associated with applying for a Long Term Residence (LTR) visa in Thailand. Many users suggest that hiring an agent may not be necessary, as the application is handled by the BOI (Board of Investment) and can be done directly by individuals. Agents typically charge around 85,000 to 100,000 baht for their services, but their value is questioned given the BOI's accessibility and responsiveness. Personal experiences indicate that many have successfully managed their applications without agent assistance, emphasizing the straightforward online application process.

I did my pensioner LTR myself. It depends on which LTR you are applying for. I imagine an agent can advise you if you are unsure if your finances will qualify.
There is a list of agents on LTR website. I spoke to one of them and they basically upload your documents for you for 85k baht. Unless you already tried to apply yourself and got rejected with no obvious reason, I don't think the agent will do much for you.
BOI is extremely helpful and answers emails very quickly and thoroughly from my experience. I don't see any value an agent can provide given how accessible and responsive BOI's LTR unit is to you for personalised individual responses to your exact situation.
Using an agent for the LTR makes no sense. The application is processed by the BOI so there's nothing an agent can do to bypass any requirements. And to apply will require your personal documents about finances and other things. An agent doesn't have access to any of this, so you'll have to obtain it and submit it. Why pay money to someone to submit it to them when you could just submit it directly to the BOI instead?
The BOI has a list of their officially approved agents. Last I heard they start around 100,000 baht.
