Banking question.

So an agent in Pattaya can open the account for me as I am having difficulties opeining one on my TR60.

However they would use own TM30 because I am based in Issan. That would then mean any post would go to the address they have set up. So I asked the question can I change my address after the account is set up on the same day. They say this is not possible. Obviously from a security standpoint it’s not safe to have bank mail going to someone else’s address.

So what have other people done?

Also I will be in Bangkok for a day or two does anyone know of a bank branch that are currently allowing TR60 to open an account?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about opening a bank account in Thailand with a TR60 visa while facing challenges due to address discrepancies, as the account would be opened in Pattaya but they reside in Isan. The user was concerned about the security of having bank mail sent to the agent's address and whether they could change their address immediately after account opening. Responses highlighted that once the account is opened, they should have the ability to update their address, and suggested considering opening an account locally in Isan to avoid fees and limitations associated with interprovincial banking.

If you live in Isan, why are you opening the account in Pattaya? Many banks charge an ATM fee for use outside of the province the account was open and there are certain things that you can only do at the branch the account was opened at.

because I am currently on a TR60 and where I am they need a non.0 90 day. But immigration won’t give one without the bank account. Right hand and left hand etc.

next time you enter Thailand, you will need to TM30 register your accommodation on the Immigration in the Isaan. Then you ask them for a "certificate of residence" for opening a bank account/ changing the address of an existing bank account. With this you visit the bank branch where you live, and have them change the address. I did so with my SCB account that was opened and addressed in Hua Hin, I was able to establish the account under my new address in the Isaan

once you have your bank account in your name you are the only one with access to it. Therefore you can change your address. Then you open one up in your province and get rid of the pattaya one. No interprovince fee on withdrawls
