What are the visa implications for my husband, daughter, and I when we return to Thailand from Bali with his new insurance?

Husband has non imm O-A retirement visa issued in NZ and is stamped in until 8th October 2023. My Daughter and I have non imm O visas issue in NZ and have extension following my Husband, also stamped in until 8th October 2023. We reside in Phuket and are going to Bali in September and plan to return to Phuket with another year of insurance for my Husband. Am I correct in understanding that will give him a stamp that aligns with his new insurance policy? What will it give my Daughter and myself? Will we be stamped in for 90 days and then do an extension to match my Husband’s? Thanks for your advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's husband holds a non-immigrant O-A retirement visa, set to expire on October 8, 2023, along with the user's and their daughter's non-immigrant O visas. Upon returning to Thailand with a new year's insurance policy, he will receive a new stamp that corresponds with this policy. The user and their daughter will initially be stamped until October 8, 2023, unless they obtain extensions in alignment with the husband's new visa date. It's important to obtain re-entry permits before traveling to Bali and apply for extensions at the local immigration office in Thailand.

Yes, you are correct, your husband will be stamped in for another 365 days or until new insurance expires when he enters Thailand on or before the "valid until" date on his visa sticker. Be aware it is NOT 8th Oct 2023.

But you and your daughter will still be stamped until 8th Oct 2023 with valid re-entry permits. So you and your daughter have to get a re-entry permit for each before you fly to Bali, but not for your husband.

Once you all are in Thailand with his new stamp, you all go to your local immigration office to apply for extensions for you and your daughter ON or BEFORE 8th Oct 2023. Your extensions will have the same date as your husband's new stamp. Then you all need to get re-entry permits if you want to travel outside Thailand during that period.

So, your husband needs to enter Thailand before 8th Oct 2023 for you to be able to apply for new extensions.

Check again the dates on his visa and all stamps of all of you.

thank you so much! I see that the valid date of visa is 18th September. Our trip to Bali is the 17th to 24th September 😣 So my Husband will need to leave and return prior to 18th September I assume. Can he do that alone and my Daughter and I can go to the local immigration on or before 8th October to apply for our extensions to match my Husband’s new stamp without us having to leave Thailand? Thanks 🙏

, he can travel alone to get his new stamp. You and your daughter are fine until 8th Oct. No need to travel with him for his new stamp. As you described, get him to enter again within visa is valid, then you and your daughter can go to the local immigration office to apply for an extension matching his stamp on or before 8 Oct.

(I just saw 8 Oct is Sunday, you need to apply for your extension within 6 Oct)
