Hi Guys.

Flying to Thailand in January for 2 months.

Married to Thai National but only need Tourist Visa ( 57 days )

I think there are 9 steps for E. Visa.

1 - Passport Main page

2 - Photo of empty passport page for last year's travel

3 - Passport size photo

4 - Flight ticket

5 - Declaration form

6 - Letter of invitation from wife ( Not Booking Hotel )

7 - Bank Statement

8 - Proof of Residency = Passport Main Page

9 - Photo of me holding Passport next to head

* Do NOT have to send your Passport to Embassy ?

Have I missed anything ?

Thanks.

What is the reason for rejection, you only need passport acceptable photos.

If it is they are too large, send them to a friend on what's app.

Ask them to return them to you, and they will be reduced to the acceptable size.

just set up your phone camera in low quality photos....only 3mb..and you will be fine

If you can send all documents to your email and save all in one folder in your computer its best option

Rename photos to....easy to add

You mention all you need...i recomand e visa from london embassy....nice and smooth.

Make sure you present the copy of evisa to emigration in Thailand.....if you dont mention about it, you can end up with diferent entry permit.

Thanks for reply Stuart, I thought of that, but boarding in London can be a huge problem without a visa and no onward ticket within 30 or 45 days. Not sure if I can risk it as it's up to them on the day

David, Have you ever had problems with an airport official that doesn't know the correct procedures ?

By problems I meant unnecessary hassle when traveling can already be a hassle.

If you board the aircraft in London the check in agents know which countries are visa exempt. You are absolutely wrong this would cause a problem. Either way you will need an onward travel out of Thailand. This could be a problem if Thai immigration ask you for proof of onward travel.

You can go through all those steps to get a tourist visa, or you could just come exempt and get an extension. The latter is more expensive (approx £50 v £30) but saves you any headache getting the visa.

But having the visa avoids the headache of having proof of onward travel within the stamped in period

no it doesn't. You still need it for the eVisa app.

At the airport without a visa you will likely be asked for proof of onward travel. If he has a return ticket on day 57 that will be accepted for the visa and at check in.
