Received our dependent DTV’s today for myself and 2 kids (Under wife’s Soft Power).

Approved no questions asked in Hanoi.

I would like to thank all the assistance I had from the search button inside this group. I won’t bother going into details of how we able to all get approved first touch, as nobody will read it.

But feel free to ask questions.

i’d put together a very detailed PDF for each category. I put cover notes for each section just to explain what was in the following pages. E.g “The following five pages contain three months worth of bank statements. You will see the deposit from our house sale.” Then followed with bank statements. Then “on the following two pages is the official letter from our solicitor following sale of our house and the breakdown of funds received, which as you can see the amounts in the dates match up with the bank deposit”.

Same as for the Visa into vietnam, where we apply from. I covered our flight tickets, where we came from, where we landed, we were staying with receipts from Airbnb and the Visa stamp.

wondering if you showed 500,00baht for each of the dependents? Meaning 1.5m baht in total?

yes. I had more for the original DTV for the missus, about 6 x what was needed. For the 3 dependents application I showed 500k for each of us in the account plus 500k for the missus - so it was around 2.5mil in total. (A little buffer).

I had moved the remainder to a stock broking account. I made zero mention of this. I was expecting to show some evidence of income, however it was not asked.

In the bank accounts that I supplied, they only cover three months. And in that three months the only deposit I had was from a house sale in march. I made no mention of earning an income or how we will support ourselves while we are there as I didn’t want to confuse the application, as I’m not a remote worker. Even though I work online, the money is from the stock market, which is a little bit harder to prove based on what they normally ask for for digital nomads.

Morning! where is your marriage certificate from? I mean, did you need to get it notarized or translated?

How long was the application process?

From Australia so in English. I have seen others using ChatGpt to translate bank statements, but it seems embassy specific.

It took 5 business days for each app. Ours felt longer as I didn’t think about Songram or any public holidays when I applied.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
