Dear group,

I am hoping to apply for a 60 day family extension... A few questions.

1. If I apply before September 26th, will my 60 days family extension run from the day of visit or September 26th?

2. What type of form do I need to fill in or is it the standard extension form?

3. Have you heard of any problems with this type of extension after amnesty yet?

4. Will it be Chang wattana or MTT?

Thanking you in advance.

Keep up the sterling work

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the process and requirements for applying for a 60-day family extension in Thailand. Key questions include when the extension period begins, necessary forms, potential issues following the amnesty period, and the correct immigration office to visit.

I think I’m almost in the same situation as you, in Hat Yai they told me I could not get the 60 day extension while on amnesty.

Thanx
@Gra***
, when did you go talk to them about applying for the 60 day visit family extension?
Tod *********
Reports are coming in that if you were on amnesty, when you apply for an extension it will be dated as starting from the 27th of Sept.

Same TM7 application for extension, and the documentation requirements will be based on what ever reason you're applying for the extension for (marriage to a thai, raising half thai children).

The reason I asked WHAT entry stamp you had before the amnesty is because that controls WHERE you go in Bangkok.

If you came in on a 30 day visa exempt entry or a 60 day tourist visa entry you would go to Muang Thong Thani to get the extension

AND

If you came in on a Non-Immigrant type visa entry you would go to Chaengwattana.

how about starting with what entry stamp or visa you entered the country on before the amnesty started?

what is required to have ‘visit family’ extension? Is a thai spouse sufficient?

@Johnny *****
Visiting your spouse (wedded partner) or child with the Thai Nationality

this means one 60-day extension on top of a visa-waiver on arrival?

sorry one more question... Do I need to have a minimum of 21 days left on my amnesty to apply for the extension? My worry is that it's possible that there will be another amnesty extension that could announce after I get my extension... I. E. I would like to leave it as long as possible before I apply. Thanks again

@James **************
, you are confusing getting a 60 day extension with converting some entry to a 90 day Non-O visa where there is an under consideration period.

IF they grant you the 60 day extension it will be dated to start the date AFTER this amnesty exires (Sept 27th).

First GO see if you can even get it
