Just a heads up friends, two weeks ago submitted my visa application. Today went to get it stamped. They wouldn’t stamp it because the two photos submitted were the same. Has to be two different photos. Easy fix, go downstairs and for 100 bhat a new photo in a different colored shirt. First time I’ve heard this in 7 years.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user encountered an issue with their visa application when the authorities refused to stamp it due to submitting two identical photos. Despite having applied for visas in Thailand for seven years without this problem, they were informed that two different photos are required. Other comments raised questions about the specifics of the visa, location, and whether older photos were the issue, highlighting the variability in rules and experiences among expats.

Every photo you have submitted in the past is scanned and added to your computer data, and they check to make sure they are new photos. I first became aware of this 7 years ago. It's not new.

They probably have a friend in the photo shop🤣

Photos cant be older than 6 months. If youre using the same picture from last years application it obviously isn't recent enough picture of you.

We used photos all the same no problem!

No idea what you're on about! Can you give a few more details?

What visa were you applying for? Or if you were applying for an extension What extension

Aha! You used an agent. Explains everything

Why do you wait two weeks to get visa stamped? Where is "downstairs"? What exactly are you talking about? This post is of no value unless you clarify what it is you're doing

I submitted a Non O visa on August 14 in Chang Wattana. Same as I had for seven times previously. My visa expires in September 3. They told me to come back on September 4 to receive the final visa stamp in my passport. Stand in line, get a ticket to area L2. When I’m called they said in my original application the two photos on two separate pages of the application were exactly the same. One had to be different. I didn’t bring my photos so I went downstairs in the Chang and had another photo taken with a different colored shirt. Went back up, gave them the new photo and they issued my visa. My intent is to warn others bring another photo with you in case the first two submitted are the same. I hope this is more clear.

@David ******
Yes, like most posts. People think you are a mind reader.
Martin ********
@David ******
it doesn't matter, the point of his post is about the photos, not where he is or exactly what he's doing, that had no relevance.

@Martin *******
A bit more detail would have been useful!
David *******
@Martin *******
As you can see I'm not the only one who's confused by what he's going on about
Doug *******
@David ******
But you are the only one who is confused AND rude, for reasons only you can know.
David *******
@Martin *******
It has every relevance. I get extensions to a non-O every year and require ONE photo, so perhaps he should clarify which visa he is on so it might be helpful to people in that same situation
Martin ********
@David ******
it might be relevant to you but it’s not to anyone else. His post is about the photos.
Andy *******
You already know they make up the rules as they go

Bizarre!
