TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the necessary documents for applying for a Thai visa, particularly for freelancers. It highlights the importance of providing proof related to education (like diplomas and transcripts), work achievements (such as a portfolio), job descriptions, and CVs. The need for clarity regarding the type of visa and freelancing work is emphasized. Furthermore, there is a mention of an in-person interview being standard practice at embassies for visa applications.

Basically you need to show proof of what you say you need the visa for.

Is an in-person interview for this visa now normal practice at all embassies?

this embassy is not on e-visa yet.

Actually, this is a situation not seen that often:

Thai Embassy in Rabat has started Thai E-Visa since 26 November 2024, but there is a visa interview for an E-Visa!

It seems that the visa interview appointment email was sent out via the Thai E-Visa system (automated email message).

Albeit, Rabat just started with the Thai E-Visa system, but other embassies/consulates have also recently started and I have yet to see any reports of visa interviews for E-Visas at those other locations....

What I love is just how many DTV holders will waste 5 prime working years or more ,in Thailand , making next to nothing then later in life regret it because everyone else landed a decent career back home and contributed to a pension or better yet recieved a company pension and they will end up broke because they wasted their prime years .

The streets of Thailand are going to have lots of begging foreigners in it's future and no way to get home

huh? A lot of people are working full time New York jobs from Asia . They aren’t missing those years actually they are doubling down w same income and reduced costs. I am actually a lucky one out of that system no longer working for good at 40.

5 years isn't what it looks like

Still have to leave the country. Its a tourist visa. Oldtimers can stay and get a long time status. Cheers

what type of person wouldn’t want to go on a trip at least once or twice a year especially when in south east Asia with all the destinations to explore. But hey I hope the old timers enjoy their couches for 5 straight years or longer

Also calling it a tourist visa is awesome cause people are saying if you stay this long on a tourist visa you are abusing the spirit of being a tourist and really need a non tourist visa.

Guess folks wanna argue both sides lol

Cheers mate

It is not clear what you are confused about. First request, they want you to bring any documents related to your education, if you have any degrees (diplomas, transcripts). Next, they want to see examples of your work. What type for freelance work are you doing? Do you have a portfolio that you use to market yourself/get new clients? Finally, if you work for a company, details on the company &/or your job description. Maybe also bring a copy of your CV, etc.

If DTV visa you should have freelance profile, portfolio and work done. Also you maybe should have self employed documents.
Maksym ***********
And school/university documents... What is question? If you lie in the application you will be rejected. If not you should have this documents 🤔

If might help if you tell us what visa you're applying for
