TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a visa as a dependent of a retirement visa holder in Thailand, the relationship must be legally recognized. Thailand does not recognize common law marriage from the USA, so without formal marriage, a dependent visa cannot be issued. Each partner would need to apply for their own visa if not legally married. If you are married, check specific requirements related to the retirement visa type, such as the Non-OA visa, and consult the relevant embassy for application procedures.

It's very clear in Thailand. You are married or you are not. As a mere common law spouse, you will not be recognized as a dependent. Get married and you can. Otherwise you both need to apply on your own.

Thailand doesn't recognise common law marriage, you are either legally married or not. So if not married they wont see you as a dependent to would need your own visa if you are legally married then it depends on the retirement visa as Graham has already mentioned

Many Embassies will only issue this against a Non-OA retirement, check their website
