What are the financial requirements for the DTV visa in Thailand?

If the visa requirements include that you have to show 500k, then it must be there in your bank account and for time period required (if stipulated).

It will not be satisfactory to show you had it but used it already…!

All embassies require you to show the equivalent of 500k baht in a bank account, in your name, with instant access. The only variation is how long it has to be in there, as it can vary from 10 days to 6 months. Although there is no specific requirement on income, they want to see that you can support yourself while in Thailand. Many embassies now ask you to highlight the income from your remote work on your bank statements. There is no obligation to show where the 500k comes from, so you could borrow it for the required period.

The real answer is that it depends on what your local embassy wants. If they expect you to provide something, you will need to provide it even if it isn't a standard thing

Depends if you apply for a DTV1 (work-cation, freelance worker, 500k + proof of income required)...

Or DTV2 (soft power, boxing or cooking, only 500k proof required, not proof of income).

The 500k must he in a 'liquid cash' bank account, easily accessible and not tied up in shares or bonds.

And in most cases it must be seasoned in one account for a minimum of 3 months.

The DTV does not have an income requirement, it has a bank balance requirement. You can show monthly payslips for $1 million, but that won't meet the requirements of the DTV. You need to provide bank statements that meet what the requirement of the embassy you are using is.

Some embassies DO ask you how you plan to support yourself in Thailand, where payslips can help with that, but it's not a base requirement of the DTV.
