Please help, REGARDING LONDON EMBASSY.....im applying for the dtv soft power route and have the £36K In my bank account for me and my 2 childrens visa. Its only been in my bank account a few days, and im not sure when to apply for the visa?

Does the £36k need to be in the account for only 10 days when i apply or 3-6months??.....Or is the 3-6month part referring to them needing bank statements for that time to show the activity of the account being used and not that the £36k has been in there the whole time?

There's so much different information out there....ive seen people's screenshot on here of the embassy asking for more information and they have also asked for proof of the funds to be in account for 10days?

Apply in London if you can even if it means losing a bit of the visa time. Much quicker and more straightforward than applying in Laos imo.

10 days with the money in the account but 3 months of statements. They will probably also ask for additional evidence of how you will support yourself

Been in Laos for 2.5 weeks already, finally got my interview today so fingers crossed I can go back to Thailand on my flight tomorrow. Laos definitely taking longer than before, I came because many people said it was a week waiting. I have strong financial evidence and used a very reputable agency… I wish I did it in London lol.

Having had my child accepted via London a few days ago, I can confirm it's 10 days minimum & 3 months of statements. They did "recommend" it be submitted as PDF statements clearly showing name and UK address.

UnderstandingPeacock3600 you also need to make sure that the pdf that you submit is below the allowed file size. If not then just google ‘pdf resize’ and use an online tool

UnderstandingPeacock3600 its actually very easy and im not up to speed with modern computer systems.

I think I used pdf viewer and you simply attach all the documents into one pdf file.

UnderstandingPeacock3600 if your online banking allows, the custom build your statement to cover at least a 3 month-to-date range. Save it as a pdf file.

UnderstandingPeacock3600 Your bank statements and other supporting documents need to be in pdf format. You then have to merge them into one pdf document for uploading.

Thank you......Also is there a time limit from paying for the muay thai course to actually getting the paperwork, then again when you apply through embassy, and again the start date of the course? Is there any time stamps on them?

We're a little keen to pay for the course but may not do the Dtv until we arrive in Asia in 4months time, trying to figure out weather to apply here London or in 4+ months when we start our travels, maybee from Laos?

UnderstandingPeacock3600 the way we do it is we create a course itinerary starting when you plan to arrive in Thailand as the embassy really likes to see a good course structure. But its actually flexible and you can just convert it to flexible classes that can be taken at any time you like.

We take about 3 days to issue course documents. Good luck

UnderstandingPeacock3600 If you apply in Laos funds need seasoning for 3mths plus approval most likely longer than London, possibly a month or so to get approved for you and your 2 kids in Laos. You can apply 3 months in advance of your move to Thailand with the DTV.

The funds need to be in your account for 10 days minimum. 3-6 months of bank statements can be submitted to show bank activity, salary payments . You do not need the required funds for 3-6mths applying in London.
