Hi All-

I'm here on an ed visa in Chiang Mai which expires Aug 12. My 90 day check in date is Aug 2 (this Sunday).

I plan on filing an extension but my school is waiting on documents from the Thailand Education Department. Per my school the docs will be ready next week, they said to hold on going to my check-in and wait for extension paperwork and both at the same time.

Is the best course of action to listen to my school and wait for my extension paper work?

Can someone please confirm, when I go in person I will the following documents below:

- Original and copy of your passport (identification page and pages with Thai visas and stamps).

- A passport sized photo (4 x 6 cm).

-A copy of your arrival/departure card TM. 6 (front and back).

- Previous notifications of staying over 90 days (if any).

- A completed TM. 47 form.

Thanks!

In the worst case, if your documents get delayed, make sure to do 90days report on time (15 days before to 7 days later from due date when you report in person). Your due date is in August, your 90days report is not covered amnesty...

you should be on extension if you have to do 90 days report. Not on entry direct from visa any more..

just curious if you currently have a single entry ED Visa or multiple entry ED visa?

As under the amnesty rules there is no fine for late reports that your are 90 days inside the country, I would say follow the schools advice,

You have to apply before 12 Aug for a new Extension of Stay, which will be 90 days and if you make on that day according the new amnesty rules your 90 day report there is no fine and your dates of making 90 day reports and applying for Extension of Stay will be on the same day,
