I’d like to thank everyone that posts clear directions on how to navigate the Thai visa process, I’m happy to report that I received my one year visa this afternoon, I didn’t have to use a lawyer, I didn’t even have to leave the country, I did the paperwork myself I went to the American embassy outreach in Patong and had my income notarized, I opened my bank account and transferred the appropriate amount and that was pretty much it. I certainly couldn’t have done it without the advice that I got from this forum. Thank you Tod Daniels, I believe you posted the very detailed instructions that I followed. Now, my question is when do I have to report, today’s February eighth so should I report on May first and will I need the same documentation that I needed initially? Thanks in advance for your response.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their successful experience obtaining a one-year visa in Thailand without a lawyer, thanking the community for guidance. They inquired about the reporting process after receiving their visa, specifically asking if they should report on May 1st and whether the same documentation as the initial application would be needed. Community responses indicated that only a passport and a completed TM.47 form are required for the first 90-day report.
