You say you have family here...what relation are they to you? In particular do you have a Thai wife or a child with a Thai national?

Easy to do yourself. This group can help you. Or you can come visa exempt 45 days plus 30 extension. Just go straight to COE
depending on how long you want to stay, visa exempt ( no visa necessary) you can stay for 75 days. Just need COE, Certificate of Entry. All done on line. You'd still have to gather all the paperwork together to give to the agent who will take about 5 minutes to upload docs for you.
they do have 60 day covid extensions currently running until 29th July, to apply. Unknown yet, if will extend further ( they have done for last 14 months) but tend to leave it until last minute to let us know if it will be extended further.
If you're over 50 you can apply for OA visa or look at TR visa criteria.
fortunately I’m still under 50. I’m looking at October to arrive which should have been fairly back to normal but as we see it changes every few days. Will just have to take it as it comes.
appreciated. How do you define a shitload? £50 £100 £500? Genuinely curious as to how much cheaper it would be set against the effort bearing in mind as I said earlier in the thread I’m going to have very little time for anything other than work over the next few months.
either would suffice will be needing more in depth advice further on so any agency that can give precise up to date advice would be a helpful starting point.

That’s very kind of you Kev. I’m mainly just looking for sensible advice. I’m hoping to head out to see family in late September early October for 8 months. So far it seems I’m only eligible for the 2 month tourist visa with option to extend for 1 month when in country. My main situation is that in a few days time I will be working 12 hours a day 7 days a week until mid September giving me very little time for organising anything, hence why I thought maybe an agent would be a sensible route to take
