@everyone

It is now confirmed that travelers arriving in Thailand are receiving 30-day visa-exempt entry stamps, with the change taking effect from midnight today.

Please plan your stay accordingly.

As a reminder, we offer door-to-door 30-day extension services in Bangkok for 5,000 THB, allowing you to complete your first extension without needing to leave your residence.

If you have enough time to apply for a 60-day Tourist eVisa before traveling, this is generally the better option if you intend to stay in Thailand for longer than 60 days.
Answer summary
Travelers arriving in Thailand can now receive a 30-day visa-exempt entry stamp, effective immediately. For those seeking to stay longer, services are offered for 30-day extensions in Bangkok for 5,000 THB. Additionally, a 60-day Tourist eVisa is recommended for stays exceeding 60 days. Other commenters discussed entry requirements including proof of accommodation, cash availability, and experiences related to digital nomads.

Hey I’m about to apply for my visa under a Thai cooking class, from Australia, how long did it take for you to get approved, did you get a AFP police check as I’ve been told I need to provide this so I’ve paid for it and it takes 15 days

Rarely will you be asked for proof of funds , and having your banking app on your phone and having access to it to prove you have the funds in there is usually good enough for immigration .

So can you explain please what a Digital Nomad actually does. So are you a tax resident if spending 180 days plus here.

Graeme Drake a digital nomad is basically anyone who can work remotely from anywhere in the world as they do not too be in an office or factory they can be a consultant , or software programmer etc . And if you are being paid from the company you work for in say Australia and you are taxed in Australia then you do not need to pay tax in Thailand .

You wont get asked about an onward ticket or 20k funds.

Immigration ask these things if you are on your 3rd or 4th back to back entry without a visa, a history of border runs etc.

They only ask if they are otherwise suspicious of you, and looking for a reason to not let you in.

SoftPapaya9740 The 20k cash is a tourism entry requirement so there is a possibility that he will be asked. The onward flight too but as it's a 180 day entry there is less likelihood that this will be asked for. Proof of accommodation is the third tourism entry requirement.

Print out DTV Visa

Fill in TDAC ( Online arrival card ) up to 72 hrs before flying

If it’s your first activation of entry - probably won’t be asked

The Evisa explains to immigration you have applied for a suitable Visa

Accommodation booking & some cash may help

Make sure you have 20k baht or equivalent in cash. Hand over your visa with your passport and fill a DTAC form online within 72 hours prior to arrival

Hey mate, I just re-entered for the first time on my DTV yesterday (BKK). I didn’t book an outward flight and didn’t get any questions. I would suggest you laminate the DTV and show it to immigration officer along with your passport. As for 20k baht. Have some cash on you ($1kAUD) in case you get asked (which I didn’t).
