Iโm looking for guidance on visa extension options.
My situation:
I previously worked in Bangkok but have resigned and left the country.
I re-entered Thailand on a visa exemption.
I plan to apply for a Dependent Visa from my home country, but that process can only start in early February.
My current visa exemption expires on 13 January.
My questions:
1. Am I eligible to apply for a 30-day extension of stay on a visa exemption?
2. How many days before the expiry date can I apply?
3. Which immigration office should I go to if I live in the Sathorn area, Bangkok?
Any recent experiences or official guidance would be really helpful.
Thank you in advance ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about extending their stay in Thailand on a visa exemption due to upcoming plans to apply for a Dependent Visa. They seek clarification on the eligibility for a 30-day extension, how early they can apply before their visa exemption expires, and the appropriate immigration office to visit in the Sathorn area, Bangkok. The responses highlight that one can apply for a visa extension when there are 45 days or less remaining on the current stamp, with guidance to visit the IT Square Laksi Plaza immigration office.

In Bangkok you can apply for a 30 day extension when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp <- meaning you could have applied any time after Nov 29th ๐ฎ ) so any time now
NOTE; you don't lose time going early, they add the 30 days to your current expiration date ๐
you would go to the Immigration office located at IT Square Laksi Plaza (3rd floor) that's where visa exempt extensions are issued. It is the ONLY office you can use in Bangkok.
There are copy/photo shops next to the immigration office where you can get the required copies, passport sized photo and the forms are available at the immigration office as you enter the area.
You need proof of having a TM30 filed (notification of foreigner in residence receipt) showing you're registered as staying at an address in bangkok.
