Hello looking for advice for a Cambodian citizen who entered on a 14 day visa exemption and then extended using embassy letter until the 27th April. Does she have options to extend? Do we need to go to immigration or will it be automatic until 30th? What is the penalty for overstaying during normal times? Or after possibly after 30th? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Cambodian citizen who initially entered Thailand on a 14-day visa exemption and later extended it with an embassy letter until April 27 may have options to extend further. It is advisable to contact the immigration office for clarification, especially regarding any sweeping amnesty policies currently in place. Checking if the individual entered under the Bilateral Agreement may also be crucial for determining extension options and consequences of potential overstays.
yes she entered on a bilateral agreement I believe, it’s a 14 day visa exemption. I don’t think you can usually extend but she got a covid letter from Cambodian embassy and they extended for 30 days
