TLDR : Answer Summary
New immigration requirements in Phetchaburi mandate that for a one-year retirement extension of stay, applicants must provide a bank statement showing funds for the past three months. Additionally, copies of the bank book accompanied by a bank letter are no longer sufficient. The minimum balance required is 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account in the applicant's name for at least two months prior to the application, and 400,000 THB for the remainder of the year. Other notes from the community suggest that proper documentation should include both bank letters and updated bank book copies.

Most immigration offices have ALWAYS made you copy your data page on your bank book and at least enough pages to show the last 3 months transactions with the last transaction showing the date you're applying for the extension.

Some clued-in banks actually print out the last 90 days of transactions when they give you the bank letter :O

The requirement is at least 2 months prior application date till at least 3 months after application date a minimum of 800.000 Thb on a Thai bank account in your name and the rest of the year not less than 400.000 Thb. Most Immigration Offices require a bank letter for this, plus copies of your updated bank book.

You can not proof things what happens in the future. You know the requirements so you follow them up and leave the money in the bank. If you do not do this, it will be noticed with your next year application and you have than a big chance it will be refused.

I'm in Thailand on original 1 year visa O-A retirement out of USA. I understand I'll have to apply for extension of stay after I reach the end of the admit to date. I plan on having the 800K baht in a thai bank account a minimum of 2 months prior to applying for extension of stay. Not sure I understand how the requirement to have funds for 3 months after the application date is proved since the extension will be my first.

Thought that they had changed it now to 2 months before and 3 months after visa issued

The 800,000 I imagine?

or the 400k if marriage/or dependent (?) or the combo method, less..if that is still available--ie income plus money in bank if inadequate income????
