Have a Russian friend trying to extend (tourist visa or exemption, I'm not sure what Russians get) in Samui, I think they can still only get 7 days, but she's finding conflicting info on if extra documents, medical certificate etc are needed now. Is there a clear answer?
So many people stranded with tough Visa situations now, appreciate this group's knowledge!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Russian Nationals can currently only obtain a 7-day visa extension in Thailand. However, if they have a letter from their consulate stating they are unable to travel due to COVID-19, they can apply for an emergency extension of up to 30 days. Therefore, it's essential for Russians to secure this letter to explore extending their stay beyond the standard 7 days.
Russian Nationals can ONLY get a 7 day extension denied stamp that gives them a week to leave thailand UNLESS they have the "unable to travel due to covid-19" letter from their consulate THEN they could apply for an emergency extension for up to 30 day.
SO the first step is to get the letter from their consulate (IF russia offers it) OR they're done and all they can get is the 7 day stamp that gives them a week to get out of thailand
Do you know if we can get another extension after we use up the first 30 day Emergency extension? What happens after if we still cannot leave thailand? Overstay?
