I have a question, my friend is Russian and is here on 30 days exemption stamp, he says that he is not allowed to get 30 days extension on it because of his nationality. Is that correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Russian citizen on a 30-day visa exemption stamp cannot extend their stay beyond the initial 30 days. This is due to restrictions placed on nationals from certain countries, including Russia, which prohibits them from receiving the standard 30-day extension. Instead, they can apply for a 7-day extension for a fee, but must leave Thailand shortly thereafter.

Totally correct, people from 6 countries CANNOT get 30 day extensions on their 30 day visa waiver entry

Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia, Cambodia, Vietnam AND Russia

They get 30 day visa waiver entries and they are done All they can get is a 7 day extension denied stamp for 1900baht and leave in a week

They DO NOT have a limit of 2 land entries per year though, so can bounce out and back multiple times
