What are the implications of no longer having in-person applications for DTV visas in Hanoi after October 25th?

Hanoi DTV:

I saw somewhere that after October 25th there are no in-person applications. What does this mean for DTV applications in Hanoi?

I think it still means I would need to be in Hanoi/Vietnam for the sake of the local address etc, but besides there really isn't anything different?

Not needing to show up in person, is a good thing right?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent updates indicate that in-person applications for DTV visas at embassies worldwide, including Hanoi, have not been required since January 1st. Applicants still need to be physically present within the jurisdiction of the Hanoi Embassy during the visa application process, as there may be additional requirements such as interviews. Changes primarily involve the transition to online applications, which is seen as a convenience.

Old news.

Been on-line applications only for a long time.

But you still have to be in the jurisdiction of the Hanoi Embassy all the way through the visa process

For your Hanoi application did they ask for current bank statement or 3 months?

It means you'll not show at the embassy but you'll need to prove you're around it the time your application is considered (they sometimes ask for interview). You can't come back to Thailand until done or may face application cancellation.

There have not been in person applications globally since Jan 1st. You still need to be in the jurisdiction though
