TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses important changes affecting DTV (digital TV) holders in Thailand, specifically the requirement for ID and SIM cards to align with bank accounts. Comments indicate concerns about how this may impact individuals, especially those living abroad or with outdated SIM cards. Some participants share personal experiences, indicating that issues may arise primarily for those inactive for longer periods, while others reassure that account access can be resolved upon returning to the country.
Do you need something from phone provider for the bank?

Problem will mostly affect those currently out of the country and their number expired due to inactivity of not being topped up after 6 months. I haven’t been there since last June and there is possibility of them having to close my account.

They won't close the account. You will just lose mobile banking access.
You can resolve it at the branch the next time you come back

Anonymous participant 282 You can always use internet banking, unless it's a stupid bank like SCB, which only offers mobile banking.
