For your reference - I was able to open account at ttb Bank.

Following documents were requested:

- Passport

- Thai Driving License

- E-Visa

- Translated Working Contract from Homecountry

- Lease Agreement

- Certificate of Residence

- Tabien Baan Copy with signature from my landlord

I think these are the general requirements of the bank, which should apply to any branch. So you can just walk in any branch, in case they haven’t heard about DTV just tell them to call their headquarter for more information.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To open a bank account at ttb Bank in Thailand as an expat, the following documents are required: a passport, a Thai driving license, an E-Visa, a translated working contract from your home country, a lease agreement, a certificate of residence, and a signed copy of the Tabien Baan from your landlord. These requirements are generally the same across any branch. It's suggested to inform the bank about the DTV if they are not familiar with it.

that's just with wise. He will still be able to send using western union as they still have every bank available or just do a standard bank transfer without using a 3rd party

Anonymous participant 919 Yeah. It was on the list if the requirements I was given last week from a branch local to me even though I have an account with same bank in Bangkok. That and 2 forms of photo ID. The local branch does everything I need with priority service but to open an account there I need to provide everything someone with no account would.
