What are the experiences with obtaining a Muay Thai Visa from Chakrit School in Bangkok?

Anyone experience with Muay Thai Visa from Chakrit School in Bangkok? I went there today and his English was very bad and he was pushing me to pay the fee, without being able to answer my questions. Maybe it's just the language barrier, but that's the feeling I got. Any experiences?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation details a user's experience seeking a Muay Thai Visa at Chakrit School in Bangkok, highlighting issues with language barriers and the pressure to pay fees. Several commenters share their experiences with the ED Visa process at Chakrit. They confirm the school's recognition by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and outline the steps for obtaining the ED Visa, including the initial tuition payment, paperwork handling, and subsequent extensions every 90 days. There are discussions about operational protocols, costs, and getting assistance with English, noting that while English proficiency may be limited, the school's training quality is generally praised.

Aka Muay thai in phuket, master toddy in Bangkok and I forgot the name of this one but it's next to rangsit stadium like behind the stadium that has Ed visa. I originally came to learn and fight in muay thai. The gym I went didn't have it. None of the trainer had a license and the gym wasn't registered as a business and had a curriculum to be registered MOE.

I used Metv and Ed visa but actually learnt Thai. The reading and writing part was insanely hard. Now I just work with a non b/work permit. Just to save money for Muay thai but I just been enjoying Thailand because I never actually enjoyed it for what it is. End goal train for me. Good luck!

That his best friend is an immigration officer probably has very little to do with the fact he can issue paperwork from the Ministry of Education so his students can get an ED visa from a thai consulate in another country (seeing as the consulates aren't run by the immigration office ;) )

I did an ED Visa with Chakrit a couple of years ago. Yes it is registered with the MOE. and yes, their english is basic, but they're muay thai trainers, not language teachers! When i was there, his niece(?) was working there organising most of the paperwork, and her english was a bit better. But the process is as Tod has said. In the end i couldn't take those chaeng wattana visits, and so still opted to instead visit neighbouring countries on a short weekend getaway, rather than lose the will to live getting to the govt office and back. Good luck with it all :) They're good trainers, and it's a good workout.

on an ED visa for a private school you're gonna hafta go to Chaengwattana to get your 90 day extensions whether you want to or not.

You can get a re-entry permit at both Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports on the day you're flying out. The re-entry counters are open

Thanks James. I really don't wanna go to Chang Watthan as well. Another thing is, that the guy told me, I have to go to Chang Watthana as well to get a Re-Entry permit, if I want to travel and that I coult not get it at the Airport. Do you have experience with that? Or maybe
@Tod ********
knows about this too?

That school is definitely recognized by the MOE to teach muay thai and to issue you paperwork for you to get an ED visa.

The way it works is

you pay the tuition, it takes about 3 weeks for them to get the paperwork from the Ministry of Education that you take to a thai consulate in a neighboring country to get a 90 day single entry ED visa for about 2000baht.

When you enter the country you'll be stamped in for 90 days. When that 90 days is running down you'll get more paperwork from the school to take to the immigration office and apply for a 90 day extension for 1900baht. You do that every 90 days for the whole year.

Oh one more question on this, if you happen to know
@Tod ********
. Is this ed visa extension something that could be done at the Bumrungrad Hospital business center instead of the main immigration location?

I did my recent 30 day extension there and it was a pleasurable experience. If this
*****
extension can be done there, that would be awesome.

extensions of stays for studying at a private school (like Muay Thai, thai language, etc) can be issued for up to 90 days at a time. Sometimes you get 90, sometimes you get 60. it's totally up to the immigration officer at that time.

So these extensions (after the initial 90 days) are done every 90 days, or every 60 days? 90 days sounds great.

it's cheaper long run. No bus, Train, room to rent or food to spend. Just spend it in Thailand instead.

, it's like most people on ED visas, there is no border running. First you go to the thai consulate in another country to get your ED visa, then every 90 days you to to the immigration office inside the country to get an extension

Nope, not the language barrier. a Muay Thai Visa does simply not exist. If the school is recognized by the Ministry of Education, he could give you papers to apply for the Non Immigrant ED visa at a Thai Consulate or Embassy.
