Hello, can anyone recommend a good school or organization to go through to get the Chiang Mai Combat Visa? I'm emailing with CM Locals right now.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the process of obtaining an education visa (ED Visa) for combat training in Chiang Mai, as there isn't a specific 'Combat Visa.' Recommendations include the Hand to Hand Combat School, which offers a structured experience and assistance with 90-day reporting requirements. It's clarified that after enrolling and paying tuition, one must go to a Thai consulate in a neighboring country to acquire the initial visa, followed by regular extensions through the school.

I don't think they let you fight for a visa. But if you stay without a visa and go to prison, you can fight to leave there.

My husband attended Hand to Hand Combat School CM in 2016-2017 and had a great experience. Wonderful staff and very organized. They even queue for you when you have to do the 90 day reporting early in the morning. Highly recommended!

Thanks. When you get these 90-day extensions, do you need to leave the country?

Meryl I would agree with Tod that sounds like a an unreasonable customer. It is just the one school that does this course in Chiang Mai. You can go talk to the school directly about it, you don't need to go through an agent. They are here, you can just drop in for a chat (note everyone who has reviewed on Google gave five stars):

, sounds like a customer didn't read the terms of the contract they signed, had to stop attending and then wanted a refund.

Go scope out the school before you enroll, know what you're getting into, and talk to currently enrolled students.

Jet is the real deal, he runs a school approved by the Ministry of Education to teach what he teaches and offer ED visas

Thank you. One more question. I read this review online, so I'm a little concerned. It's the only review of the school that I could find.

you only leave the country the first time to get the initial 90 day education visa, after that you go to the immigration office in your area for your 90 day extensions for 1900baht

Umm, there is no combat visa ;) You'd enroll, pay your tuition, get paperwork from Jet's school, go to a thai consulate in a neighboring country, get a 90 day single entry ED < (education) visa, then every 90 days you'd get paperwork from the school to go to the immigration office and get an extension for 90 days. You do that for the whole year

The only one I know of up there that does ED visas is the personal defense school run by Jet.
