Hi everyone,

I received my Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) on 15 September 2025. I have a trip planned to Argentina on 20 November 2025, and after that, I’d like to fly to Thailand.

I have two questions:

1. I read somewhere that I need to enter Thailand within the first 3 months after visa issuance — is that true?

2. Is it required that my first entry into Thailand must be from the country where the visa was issued (Serbia), or can I travel from Argentina directly?

Would really appreciate any clarification from those with experience 🙏

You can enter from anywhere.

The three month rule change seems to be fairly new, based on posts in this group, I would recommend rectifying with the issuing consulate by phone or email rather than rely on fb comments.

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

1) you have 5 years to enter. You can enter as many times as you want until the expiration date on the visa.

2) there's no requirement to enter from anywhere.
