Once you have a DTV. Each time you enter how much do you need to pay? I want to return in January for a few weeks then leave again... but curious what the entrance fee is.

TLDR : Answer Summary
There is no entrance fee for holders of a DTV visa when re-entering Thailand. Some land borders may impose a small stamping fee upon exiting if traveling by car, typically around 25 to 30 Baht, but this does not apply to passengers traveling by bus or on foot. The DTV visa allows for multiple entries over five years, without any additional fees for entry or exit.

Nothing. Some land borders occasionally levy a small stamping fee (usually on exiting, not on entering) if you travel with a car but this is limited to something like 25 or 30 Baht and doesn't apply to passengers traveling by bus or on foot.

Entered on a DTV I mistook this for a 5 year visa to my dismay anything that requires a 1 year visa ie owners document DTV does not qualify as is only a 180 day 😡

What are you talking about? In some respects, the DTV is superior to 1 year visas/extensions except for the need to do either a border run / trip outside the country at the 6 month mark or go for an extension of stay.

read my post and maybe you will understand.

Thank you for the clarification guys, I stand corrected

it just sounded too good to be true.

What's the deal with not being able to open a bank account on that visa though? What if you combine it with a 1 year condo rental contract for instance?

You can opene a bank account. Just check several branches.

Nothing. That’s it.

I’m pretty sure that 10,000 is for six months and not for the full five years it has to be extended (automatically )every six months with a fee payable every six months

Who told you this nonsense?

Automatically extended every six months? How?

A fee payable every six months? Where? Will they send a bill to my home address? Or to my Thai address?

Did you think before you wrote this?

I'm pretty sure you didn't read the rules. It's clearly written. Although the price (if any) and requirements for IN COUNTRY extension aren't clear yet, it's totally certain that if you leave before 180 days, each new entry within the 5-year period is free and grants 180 more days.

ou est ce que tu as lu un truck pareil ? Comment afficher autant de certitude sur une erreur pareil ?

no, the 10,000 baht fee is a one time application fee. Each time you enter is free.

There will be a fee if you extend within the country but that amount is not known at this time.

So it is possible to enter and exit as many times as you want and stay up to 180 days each time without any additional fees.

I have already entered using DTV twice. This is a multiple entry visa.

The amount for extension is 1900THB, just like any other extension.

Same. have entered twice already on the DTV. First by air, then by land. Was delighted that my "enter until date" was stamped, not handwritten, as is usually done when entering by land since the 180 day stamps are relatively rare (most visa types allow for entries for 14, 15, 30, 60 or 90 days). Anything above 90 days is normally reserved for those on extensions of stay and are valid until that extension expires.

DTV, LTR and privilege visa holders all receive something more than 90 days per entry (180 days for DTV, up to 10 years but I think they're stamped in for 5 years on an LTV and for privilege visa holders, 1, 5, 10 or even 20 years).

- Not true. Every time you enter the country you get a new 180 day stamp. It is not like an extension, but a new 180 day stamp.
Michael *********
@Alain **********
you get a new stamp (for free) when you leave and re-enter.. to extend with immigration without leaving the country it’s 1900baht (once per entry)
David ********
@Michael ********
correct once off 10,000bht then 1900 to extend then you must leave and come back repeat for 5 years. That's what makes it awesome
Mathieu *****
@David *******
how often do we have to extend it ( to pay the 1900 ) ?

Thank you
David ********
@Mathieu ****
can extend once 1900 bht after that 180 day you go out and come back reset again
Wesley ********
@Mathieu ****
6 months only if you stay in Thailand
Elías ********
There's no entrance fee. That's what you get the visa for, to enter and exit freely for a period of 5 years.

@Elías *******
this answer is correct
Greg ********
There is no entrance fee. The 10k is for a 5 year multi entry visa.
